Hundreds of companies from around the world take part in the SXSW Trader Show, held at the Austin Convention Center, including 37 from Brazil, which were invited through a partnership between the festival and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil).

Alongside France and Japan, Brazil has a large stand with games, advertisement, film production and technology start-ups. The creative director Marcelo Pena Costa was promoting Bike da Firma, a rewards platform for people who go to work by bike.

In testing phase, the app has some registered companies in São Paulo and will be launched in the US in the second semester. As an example, he mentioned that a Google employee in Brazil gets one day off work for every 20 km cycled.

Together with Costa was Leonardo Militelli, founder of the cybernetic security company iBliss, launched in 2009, with clients like Embraer, Prudential and Allianz.

Apex-Brasil also brought to SXSW national hits from Youtube turned into big business that want to export their products, like Galinha Pintadinha, launched in 2006, now with contents in Spanish (Gallina Pintadita) and English (Lottie Dottie Chicken).

The agency, which takes part in the festival since 2014, expects to generate US$ 18 billion in business, similar to the amount raised by start-ups last year.
